Primary health care approach in children intrafamily violence

Abstract

Objective:

To identify actions performed in primary health to care children and adolescents victims of domestic violence.

Method:

Qualitative research, with data obtained through interviews with managers and nurses in primary care units and data thematic analysis.

Results:

The health manager demonstrates knowledge of current legislation, but states that many of laws are not effective of Primary Health care. Nurses report lack of knowledge about the law, disbelief in the Guardian Council, fragmentation of the service; they point the agent community health and the social worker as the main responsible for conducts cases.

Conclusion:

Data showed that in the health system, the care of the victim of violence to children aren’t following the principles of primary care, such as: access, longitudinality, comprehensiveness and coordination. In this context is necessary to deal with violence guided by individual and collective actions, as well as, multidisciplinary, integral and intersectoral.
