Abstract
The research objective was to identify the knowledge production of the Nursing Post-Graduate Program in the area of pediatrics and neonatology. We used the quantitative-descriptive method, based on documentary analysis of 44 dissertations in the Nursing Post-Graduate Program, Federal University of Santa Catarina in the period between 1999 and 2011. For data analysis was performed descriptive statistics. The results showed that the dissertations related to pediatrics and neonatology accounted for 13% of the studies, themed on the processes of health care and educational processes through qualitative approach with two main lines of research. The predominant subjects were nursing staff and the child’s family, and most of the studies occurred in hospitals. The knowledge produced was relevant to the care of the newborn and child and showed the need for quantitative researches, including subject neonates and children to provide evidence for clinical care.
