Abstract

This study aims to report the actions for mental health promotion developed by undergraduate nursing students in an Elementary school. It also discusses the actions developed by an University extension project in the period of May 2012 to May 2013. The union of nursing university extension to the education sector allows greater visibility to the collective and intersectoral care of the nursing professional. In addition, the project offered the nursing students the development of skills relational and communicative skills with the children, and between children, by means of a reflexive and dialogic construction between theory and practice in the context of the mental health promotion providing recognition and empowerment of emotions by children.
