Abstract

Introduction:

Primary Health Care (PHC) in Cuba inspired the Brazilian model, namely the implementation of the family health strategy.

Method:

experience report on immersion course at the National School of Public Health in Havana, Cuba, with theoretical classes and technical visits in child health services, from primary to tertiary care, developed from a partnership of the Brazilian Society of Pediatric Nurses (SOBEP) with the Child Health Nursing Network (RED ENSI).

Results:

The operation of the Cuban care network was evidenced, with a focus on primary care as coordinator of care in the network.

Conclusion:

It is suggested the continuation of such exchanges, so that more nurses can know the reality of the health supply in that country.
