Abstract

Objective:

to analyze the perceptions of community health agents (CHA) about health education in adolescence under the Family Health Strategy (FHS).

Methods:

descriptive study with a qualitative thematic analysis of the data, from semi-structured interviews recorded with 27 CHA working in the FHS of the municipality of Passos, MG.

Results:

reports point to aspects relating to the practices of health education developed with adolescents, intersectoral joints to enable the development of these practices, and obstacles encountered in daily life.

Conclusion:

health education for adolescents, the vision of the CHA working in the FHS, is focused on prevention of diseases and disorders, with little emphasis on health promotion and on work in discussion groups, favoring the construction of knowledge and the role of the adolescent.
