The children’s imaginary about hospitalization: a study of pediatric care indicators

Abstract
This study handled the children’s imaginary about hospitalization by aiming at identifying the child’s image of his/her hospital slay and discussing the nursing role in avoiding the sequels hospitalization related to child’s life. The qualitative approach was developed in accordance with a descriptive method, in a pediatric publica hospital with nine children among 4 through 12 years. The content analysis conducted us to three categories: a hospital as home, its real structure and which belongs to personal world of child. It was concluded that his/her imaginary about hospital originated from individual experience, wishes and even own affectivity, by constituting the reality in a singular manner.
