Abstract

The study had objectives to identify and analysis the nursing team knowledge related to care for hospitalized children receiving enteral nutrition. It was developed an exploratory study by applying an open-end questionnaire to 20 members of nursing team. The findings showed that the 45% of nurses and 36% of the technicians answered correctly the questions. Both groups demonstrated low level (less than 50%) of update knowledge related to enteral nutrition. We therefore concluded that the nursing team needs continuous education about enteral nutrition in order to provide a high quality of caring for children safely and less risks.
