Abstract

The childish development follow-up is the most important element among child’s health promotion strategies. Thus, it should be carried out in daycare and kindergarten facilities. So, it aimed at assessing children’s motor skills enrolled in three daycare of a high caring standard in São Paulo city, into two distinguishing steps. The methodology consisted in applying development screening Denver 11 test upon 32 children among 0 through 3 years belonged to the same social-economical class. The results of each child were compared and analyzed to signals test (risk a=0,05). In a gross motor skills, the outcomes of second assessment were better than the first one, but statistically it had no significance. In a thin motor of the second evaluation, it was found out a significative improvement. It was concluded that daycare investigated facilities supported the children’s development, and in some cases, they do promote it.
