Abstract Objective: To characterize the use of the play by nurses in child care practice. Method: Integrative review covering the period 2010-2015, in Medline, CINAHL, Lilacs and BDEnf. Results: 40 articles were selected. Studies have indicated that use of the play helps healthcare provided. Through this feature, children can receive guidance on procedures or even relieve your stress, and facilitate communication with professionals.
