Abstract Objective To characterize school-age children who underwent surgical intervention in a public hospital in the countryside of Minas Gerais. Methods Descriptive and retrospective study with a quantitative approach. Data from school-age children who underwent a surgical procedure from 2017 to 2019 were taken from the study hospital.
