The Family Health Strategy on violence against children: integrative review

Abstract

Objective:

To identify the scientific literature on the role of the Family Health Strategy (FHS) staff in situations of violence against children.

Method:

This is an Integrative Literature Review conducted in the following databases: PubMed and Lilacs in the period between 2009 and 2013.

Results:

Seven articles were selected according to the inclusion criteria. The findings indicate weaknesses and difficulties that the family health team have to deal with situations of violence against children.

Conclusion:

The importance of training and permanent education of health professionals, especially those active in FHS as well as the formation of partnerships, providing grants for prevention, identification and coping with the problem of violence against children.
