Abstract
It handles a research subproject held with newborns already discharged from Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and attended to at the Interdisciplinary Nucleous Service Care to the newborn at risk (NAIRR). It puts forward as a study scope “ the characteristics of children being enrolled at NAIRR”, and beyond as an objective of describing the child’s diagnosis at NAIRR in Rio de Janeiro Municipality. The authors applied a quantitative approach, by assuming the descriptive method of research. The population of children at risk pertained to four maternities, in Rio de Janeiro Municipality, embedded by the networking health system denominated NAIRR. The study demonstrated that the children had set off the follow-up within the first 15 days of their life. Consecutively, the main causes highlighted, referred to prematurity, apnea, jaundice, respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, sepsis, and transitory tachpnea of newborn at risk. The most employed managements of treating the newborn at risk pointed to oxygenotherapy and antibiotictherapy. But only in one maternity, it lies the presence of interdisciplinary teams, wherein the nurse takes part in.
