Abstract
The clinical situation with a bad prognostic verification produces a load of reactions and varied feelings that influence the whole infirmary. This is a descriptive exploratory study based on quantitative approach, whose goal is to describe the nursing professionals’ perception about their performance with the child and the mother/attendant after a bad prognostic verification. After the analyses, three categories emerged: The feelings ahead of the “bad prognostic” propitiating the crisis; Taking care of the child with bad prognostic and; Taking care of the child’s mother/attendant with bad-prognostic. We concluded that the whole scenery that involves the clinical situation with a bad prognostic verification includes the appearance of new feelings, maybe so intense, that makes a change in the nursing professionals’ interpersonal relationship with the child in situation of imminent death and their relatives.
