Abstract
Objective:
to analyze the fulfillment of data related pregnancy, delivery, puerperium and newborn in the child health handbook.
Method:
this is a descriptive study, which was held in Cuiabá, MT, on August 13th, 2011, during the 2nd Stage of the Vaccination Campaign against Poliomyelitis, with application of form and direct observation of 950 handbooks of children less than one year of age. In order to analyze data, we calculated the prevalence ratio and the chi-square test, with a significance level of 5%.
Results:
most of the fields intended for recording of data related to pregnancy, delivery, puerperium and newborn showed an index of non-fulfillment above 80%.
Conclusion:
the precariousness of the records in the handbook reinforces the need for awareness and training of professionals with regard to its importance and appropriate use, in order to provide a comprehensive follow-up for the child health.
