Assessment of educational technology for caring and development promotion of preterm born children

Abstract

Objective:

to identify and to characterize educational materials about child care for caregivers of preterm children; to analyze the content related to child development and development promotion in the educational materials.

Methods:

Documentary, exploratory and descriptive study. Analysis of the educational materials using guides developed for the study.

Results:

There were found and analyzed one printed material and five internet pages. Percentages of form suitability ranged from 54.1% to 75.0% and content suitability from 50.0% to 92.9%, showing that they follow partially the recommendations of the literature about production of educational technologies for the population.

Conclusion:

Contents about child development were varied stating expected behaviors or stimulation cues.
