Abstract

This study aimed to describe and analyze the main nursing diagnostics identified during pediatric nursing consultation and childcare occurred during the Multidisciplinary Residency Program in a Primary Unit of the city of Campinas, São Paulo. The health problems of this population were classified by the International Classification for Nursing Practice- CIPE practice because of the approach to issues that comprise the human specificities. During the activities, it identified 48 nursing diagnostics, with the greatest impact on the health status of the population studied: inadequate dietary habits, inadequate ingesting liquids, exclusive breastfeeding, inadequate oral hygiene, inadequate recreational activity and insufficient leisure, and insufficient access to information for health resources. The identification of CIPE diagnostics allowed the determination of actual and potential population health problems, providing opportunities for health promotion, disease prevention and consequently maximizing the quality of nursing care.
