Identification of difficulties in the management of type 01 diabetes mellitus in childhood through the Maguerez Arc

Abstract
Objective
To report the application of the Arc of Maguerez in an outpatient clinic in health guidance for children and adolescents with type 1 Diabetes Mellitus and to identify their main difficulties
Methods
Case report carried out at a hospital in Rio de Janeiro using the Maguerez Arc as a data collection strategy. The authors developed a playful dynamic in which participants voted on their greatest difficulties in treatment management and their preferred type of game.
Results
Data were collected from 25 participants between six and sixteen years old. With the dynamic application to observe the circumstances and the awareness of the key elements, the main difficulties encountered were eating outside the home, physical activity and carbohydrate counting. Furthermore, the preferable kind of game was a computer/ mobile phone. Preceded by theorization, the hypothesis of solution tender was the creation of an applicative game mainly focusing on such findings being sent to the sector as a proposal for the transformation of reality.
Conclusion
Data collection through the Arc promoted the engagement of participants and raised the possibility of transforming the reality in the place where the study was carried out, combining playfulness, technology and health education according to the demands of users.
