Pain as the 5th Vital Sign: Assessment and Reassessment in a Pediatric Oncology Unit

Abstract
The research aimed to perform evaluation and correct and careful reassessment of pain, check the physical and psychological manifestations and identify nursing diagnoses associated with children and adolescents. It’s a cause study. The results presented in the study show that the child’s pain can be properly assessed despite the discomfort and pain can cause. Pain assessment shows the perception of children and teenagers about the physical and psychological discomfort of painful experience and effectiveness of prescribed analgesia. It has been shown that pain assessment and reassessment are important in the care of children and adolescents with cancer. Despite the difficulties encountered was realized that evaluation is possible, necessitating the choice of methods that may suit the age of the child being monitored.
