Abstract
This study aimed to understand how the teacher detects the child victim of violence; to know the joint identification and notification process; to propose strategies for the recognition of violence at school’s improvement. Exploratory, descriptive qualitative study with four early childhood education teachers from a Public School in the West Region of Santa Maria-RS. The data collection ran through an interview that occurred between the months of August to October of 2013. A thematic analysis identified the categories: the identification of violence by the teacher and the children’s behavior at school, the teacher in violence situations, from the identification to the routing: a little resolutive process. It is concluded that teachers identify some kinds of violence, but this is not always notified. Proposing strategies, we should prevent violence at school, train teachers to recognize, report and refer violence situations. The nurse can be the professional inserted in the school environmenl to accomplish these situations.
