DOI: 10.31508/1676-3793201200009
Abstract
The objective of this study was to describe the effect of therapeutic play as a mediator in children learning from 18 to 30 months in the knowledge of the body, hygiene, sleeping, resting, feeding and sphincter control, in a school of early childhood education, in the state of Sao Paulo, including 18 children who were beginning in the process out of nappy. It was proposed to the children to take care of two dolls, changing them, bathing, feeding with bottles, making them sleepy, among other precautions performed in school and at home, as well as activities of painting, collage and music. This experience proved to be efficient in the acquisition of knowledge and care of themselves, as well as helped in understanding of sphincter control and removal of nappy, besides contributing to improve the relationship between the institution and families by opening a channel of communication and interaction in the care and education of the children.
