Abstract

A clinical case study focusing on the child’s condition who needs special hospital care in homecare setting with the purposes of identifying the reasons stated by mother about re-staying and analyzing the mother’s knowledge regarding pathology and son’s homecare requirements. The results showed that the mother was aware of all details related to his health condition and well prepared to acknowledge the danger’s signals of disease, as well as the necessary procedures to provide with caring to her son. The re-staying causes were not associated with lack of knowledge or homecare framework to meet the caring complexity and demands. The primary family caregiver (mother) exerted a fundamental role on his three years survival.
