User embracement to child with special health care needs: a space for humanization practice

Abstract
Objective:
To develop a user embracement of mothers with disabled children according to their experiences and difficulties.
Methods:
Descriptive exploratory qualitative study. Performed in four stages, with six mothers of children attending the APAE Sobral-CE. Data analysis was performed by Content Analysis Method.
Results:
The mothers provided necessary information to conduct this study.
Discussion:
The diagnostic of a disability in the disabled child generates feelings of sadness, shame, fear, denial, struggle and guilt. Also causes difficulties for child care, pointing collaborative problems, hyperactivity, self-care deficit, misunderstanding and disobedience.
Conclusions:
The feelings of fear, guilt and doubts can be minimized with guidance and monitoring to provide safety in the care of child with special needs. Thus, user embracement can increase the attention to children and families needs.
