Playing in the child nursing care – integrative review

Abstract
Objective:
To characterize the use of the play by nurses in child care practice. Method: Integrative review covering the period 2010-2015, in Medline, CINAHL, Lilacs and BDEnf.
Results:
40 articles were selected. Studies have indicated that use of the play helps healthcare provided. Through this feature, children can receive guidance on procedures or even relieve your stress, and facilitate communication with professionals. However, despite this importance, the play isn’t incorporated in care practices. As diffi culties pointed out by the professionals were present issues related to lack time, work dynamics, lack of training, among others.
Conclusion:
The playful care helps to humanize the assistance provided, but although nursing professionals consider the important play in the treatment and recovery of the child, not yet is incorporated in their professional practice.
