DOI: 10.31508/1676-3793201900003
Abstract
Objective
To describe the contributions of using genogram and ecomap in nursing consultations in child care with children under one year of age.
Methods
Documentary, descriptive and quantitative study with data collection from 49 medical charts of children attending a nursing consultation in 2016 and 2017 at a philanthropic service of primary health care in São Paulo.
Results
Most of the genograms represented the person-index (89.8%), three generations of the family (89.8%), and members living in the same household (95.9%). Data on race or ethnicity, schooling and religion were rarely represented. Health services (43.9%), grandparents and uncles (19.5%), daycare centers and kindergarten schools (14.6%) made up the support network of families.
Conclusion
The genograms and ecomapas contributed greatly to the evaluation of the internal and external structure of the family system and little to the evaluation of the family context and its relationship with larger systems.
