Abstract

Objective

To reflect on the contributions of the congress promoted by SOBEP to the strengthening of clinical practice and the empowerment of nurses who care for neonates, children, adolescents, and their families.

Method

A reflection study based on a descriptive analysis of official documents from SOBEP’s ten congresses and reflections developed from discussions among pediatric nurses.

Results

An integration is observed between SOBEP, public universities, regulatory bodies, and funding agencies, all working toward a common goal: the appreciation of childhood, which has enabled the realization of congresses across various regions of Brazil. There has been a consolidation of themes that allow nurses to continuously update their knowledge and reflect on strategies to address contemporary challenges in clinical practice.

Final Considerations

This reflection provided a retrospective look at historical achievements strengthened by the congresses, insights into present-day challenges, and a forward-looking perspective on the future of Brazilian neonatal and pediatric nursing.
